10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hollis Town Hall

We are encouraging families to celebrate Gingerbread Day by making their own gingerbread houses to display at this year’s Hollis Holiday Luminaria Stroll.

·        Please bring your decorated house to the Town Hall between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

·        Prizes will be awarded for children, adult and family made gingerbread houses.

·        Judging will take place at 12:30 p.m.

·        Winners will be announced at the tree lighting at 4:30 p.m.

·        All gingerbread houses must be picked up by their creators by 5:00 p.m.

The Hollis Town Hall will be open to the community all day for viewing. Encourage your friends and family to come enjoy this festive display.

Gingerbread houses are a favorite holiday pastime with families. These delicious, decorative bread houses have always been a staple of the holiday season.  According to a French legend, gingerbread was brought to Europe in 992 A.D. by the Armenian monk and later saint, Gregory of Nicopolis (Gregory Makar).
