NH Residents can call 2-1-1 for questions about COVID-19
May 5, 2020
Hollis trails are now open to Hollis Residents.
March 20, 2020
This message is from the Selectmen and the Office of Emergency Management. The emergency management team has been working together to develop plans and procedures to keep our residents safe and healthy during this unprecedented public health emergency. We now need your help and assistance. We ask you to adhere to social distancing requirements. Not just the elderly who are most at risk but the young as well as they can get this virus and spread it to the most at risk. For our elderly population we urge you to limit any travel to only what is absolutely necessary and to avoid any gathering of people. Suspension of services and closures in Hollis can be found on the town web site and the public access channel. We are a strong New England community and together we will get through this. Thank you.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TO THE RESIDENTS OF HOLLIS, NH
March 24, 2020
Governor Sununu issued a state of emergency for the State of New Hampshire on Friday evening due to COVID-19. The Governor directed all schools to close and work toward a virtual environment at least until April 6th. The Town of Hollis is committed to providing a high level of service for the community, while also prioritizing the health and safety of our employees as well as our citizens. As you will read in this update many of our services are now being conducted virtually or by appointment where at all possible.
PUBLIC SAFETY & EMERGENCY SERVICE
The dedicated personnel of our Police, Fire, Ambulance and Communications will continue to serve the residents of our town on a “business and usual” basis, however, we ask that you please keep all non-emergency calls to a minimum so that they may devote their time to those residents in need of emergency services.

Emergency management is active and coordinating efforts with Town of Hollis Department Heads and the State of New Hampshire Emergency Operations Center to respond to and mitigate the current public health emergency. We may in the future be pushing out critical messages on our Code Red and Nixle platforms which are essentially reverse 911 systems. If you are not signed up to these systems now would be a good time to do so. Information can be found under the emergency alert tab on home page of the town web site.
The Governor’s Office has issued a formal guidance to NH municipalities making it clear that, given the emergency declaration, board and committees have the ability to expand their use of teleconferencing to limit interpersonal exposure. We are continuing to work through the logistical details associated with the use of applications such as Zoom that will enable a meeting to more efficiently accommodate remote participation among its members. Please check the Town’s website for an up-to-date calendar of meetings that will be taking place.
