Hollis Police Department General Orders

A Nationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency
CALEA Logo

The Hollis Police Department's General Orders (policies and procedures) are living documents that are subject to constant change. New laws, court decisions, new methodologies and other factors dictate the need for continual review, initiating revisions where necessary and appropriate.  The policies and procedures of the Hollis Police Department continue to meet the standards of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), thereby ensuring that the content of the documents is current and that we are committed to best practices.  Not only is this critical in our efforts at maintaining our status as a Nationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency, but it shows our agency's commitment to embrace progressive practices in order to meet the demands of policing in the 21st Century.

It is recognized that no set of policies and procedures, no matter how complete, can hope to address all the situations that may be encountered in everday police work.  These General Orders serve as a guideline, and should be employed with sound reason, judgment and discretion.

There are 23 General Orders that contain information on staffing levels, deployment, response tactics, and other items which are considered to be law enforcement sensitive.  As such, these General Orders are not included for public access.

The General Orders that offer the most transparency to our daily operations are available for the public’s review.  Please click the link below in order to access these General Orders:
