2021 Community Survey on Public Safety and Law Enforcement

Survey

The results are in for the Hollis Police Department’s most recent Community Survey on Public Safety and Law Enforcement. The survey, which was available for completion between September 27, 2021 and October 31, 2021, provides another opportunity for the Hollis Police Department to receive feedback on the delivery of police services and how the agency is performing.  Surveys are an important tool to help guide decision making on where the Hollis Police Department needs to focus its resources to improve police services.

The survey, which was anonymous, allowed participants to answer questions relative to the following areas:

  • Community
  • Safety
  • Procedural Justice
  • Performance
  • Contact and Satisfaction

Questions were derived based on recommendations provided by the Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS).

The survey was advertised using mediums like Facebook, Nixle, Twitter, Nextdoor, the Hollis Police Department web page, the Hollis Cable Television channel, and with a press release distributed to area media outlets. We received 150 responses, which constitutes a 1.8% response rate when using the town population number of 8,342 (2020 Census population data).
