Traffic Enforcement

Speed Enforcement

The Hollis Police Department purchased our first radar trailer/traffic analyzer in 2000. In late 2013 we purchased a replacement with additional capabilities, and in 2021, we purchased a second radar trailer/traffic analyzer. These trailers, which feature an integrated message board, traffic analyzer and radar, are used to inform motorists of their speed as they travel through town. The department uses the radar trailer in conjunction with speed enforcement patrols to combat speeding problems reported to us.

Additionally, the Hollis Police Department has an inventory of five portable speed radar signs, which collect data and generate reports used to inform proactive motor vehicle enforcement efforts.  Two of the five signs are deployed to the school zone in front of the Hollis Primary School, as this is a congested and high vehicle/pedestrian area.

If you are experiencing a problem with speeding motor vehicles in your neighborhood or any other traffic related issue, please call the police station (465-7637) and ask to speak with an officer. You can also send your concern via email or send a Directed Patrol Request form.
