What is a Seasonal Fire Permit?

A seasonal fire permit is a permit issued for a small controlled fire such as a camp or cooking fire, no greater then 4 feet in diameter contained within a ring of fire resistive material or a portable fireplace and burned in the same area at all times unless otherwise permitted by the Fire Chief.

May only be kindled between the hours of 5:00pm and 12:00am unless raining or been approved to burn at any time of day by the Fire Chief.

May burn nothing larger the 5” in diameter.

How to Obtain a Seasonal Permit?

Be sure your fire pit is all set  for inspection obtain spec and rules from fire  personel at the fire station

You must be the landowner or obtain permission from landowner to hold a seasonal permit

Call the fire station during business hours to set up a time for an inspection.

Seasonal Burn Permits can NOT be obtained on line.

What to do after a Seasonal Permit has been issued.

Notify Hollis Communications Center that you will be burning every time you burn BEFORE YOU LIGHT YOUR FIRE.

Do not burn before 5:00pm and after 9:00am
