Forest Committee

PURPOSE AND GOALS: 

To maintain the Hollis Town Forest as a working forest, following good woodland management practices, to provide for timber, wildlife and recreation. .

MEETINGS: 

Meetings are informal and called whenever and wherever needed. Generally one quarterly meeting, occasional work session.

MEMBERSHIP:

We are allowed by state law to have five members that are appointed by the Selectmen for three year terms.

CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP:

1. Love of the outdoors.

2. Some knowledge of the forest industry.

3. Committed to good woodland and wildlife management.

4. Ability to do some hiking.

a. Checking for beaver damage.

b. Boundary line locating.

c. General road and woodland condition.
