Gun Laws
As of 2/22/17, citizens are no longer required to possess a License to Carry to carry a concealed firearm provided they can legally possess one. Licenses are still available should you wish to have one for purposes of reciprocity with other states in the union. The process of issuance has not changed only the criteria used to determine "suitability." A license shall be issued if appears that the "applicant has good reason to fear injury to the applicant's person or property or has any proper purpose unless the applicant is prohibited by New Hampshire or federal statute from possessing a firearm." - A License to Carry a Pistol/Revolver does not relieve you from any criminal or civil liability resulting from the misuse of any such weapon. Possessing and/or carrying a firearm is an awesome responsibility because you hold in your hands the potential for causing the death or serious injury to another human being. Therefore, all that come in contact with any firearm should have a thorough understanding of the handling, uses, functioning, maintenance and justification for the use of firearms.
- Generally, it has been established and upheld by the courts that a person is authorized to use DEADLY FORCE ONLY under the circumstances that it is reasonable and necessary to combat DEADLY FORCE, used or threatened, or if there is imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury to you or to an innocent person unlawfully attacked. You should be aware that, should you use a firearm improperly or illegally, you will not only be subject to arrest and prosecution, but civil action as well, which historically results in astronomical settlements...(N.H.
