Hollis Police Department Small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) Unit
In the fall of 2023, the Hollis Police Department added a small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) unit to our inventory of specialized equipment. The Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) Unit consists of police officers that are specially trained in the operation and procedures for public safety sUAS flight. The sUAS Unit's operators are trained and licensed under Part 107, which is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Among other regulations included under Part 107, this permits operators to fly the sUAS at night.
sUAS deployment and usage shall be in accordance with Hollis Police Department General Order PR-344, Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS), which can be found HERE.
The sUAS Unit operates the DJI M30T Enterprise System and Airworx Mobile Command System, and members use these sophisticated tools for a variety of different safety functions, such as search and rescue, missing children/adults, traffic collision and crime scene documentation, evidence search at inaccessible locations, fire incidents, HAZMAT incidents, traffic and pedestrian monitoring at large events, and more.
Any individual who is looking for more information about the sUAS Unit is invited to contact the Unit Supervisor, Sergeant Jon Tate via email at jtate@hollisnh.org
