The Town of Hollis Communications Center is seeking a well-organized and well qualified individual to serve as the Dispatch Supervisor. The ideal candidate must be able to manage, analyze, clarify, process, and disseminate information provided by citizens and safety personnel via telephone and radio. Typical duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining radio contact with public safety agencies (Police, Fire, EMS & DPW) in the field; dealing one on one with people in the lobby of the police station/communications center; answering 911 and other emergency calls; analyzing and determining a call’s priority and retrieving related information; entering information into the agency’s computer system; operating computer and office equipment; retrieving information from internal and external databases; and clearly and succinctly dispatching and coordinating police, fire and EMS responses to incidents that originate with 911, non-emergency calls, and radio calls. Maintains and updates the CAD information system; acts as TAC administrator; assists in the training of communications specialists and evaluating job performance.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have obtained a high school diploma or New Hampshire General Educational Development certificate (G.E.D.), or other recognized G.E.D certificate, Public Safety Telecommunicator Certified (PST-1), SPOTS Certified. Must be a United States Citizen Must be computer literate and be able to type Knowledge or the ability to learn the geographic layout of the Towns we serve including but not limited to Hollis, Brookline and Mason. Proper English usage, diction, and grammar. Will work days evenings and weekends and may be required to work the late-night shift; holidays; additional shifts. Must have normal (or correctable to normal) hearing and eyesight and a clear and audible voice for radio and telephone communications. Must have three to five years of supervisory experience.

Candidates will be required to submit a Resume and letter of Intent to the Richard Todd- Communications Manager no later than July 30, 2020 at 1600 Hrs.   Resumes will be reviewed and rated. Successful candidates will be called in to participate in an oral board process. Outside Candidates must successfully complete a background investigation, Medical Examination and Drug Testing as a condition of employment. Must have valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

 Oral Boards for this position will be Mid-August 2020.
