Todd

It is with an enormous sense of pride that we take this opportunity to recognize Communications Center Manager Richard Todd on his 40 years of service to the Hollis Communications Center.  Rick began his career with the Communications Center on April 21, 1981 working in a part-time capacity as a Public Safety Dispatcher.

Throughout the years, Rick has distinguished himself as a consummate professional who is a subject matter expert on all things related to the world of emergency communications.  We would also be remiss if I did not mention that Rick served, and is still serving as a Fire Fighter for multiple communities in Southern New Hampshire, including the Fire Service agencies for Merrimack, Amherst, and New Boston, and he retired from active-duty fire service as the Fire Chief of the Amherst Fire Department.

We found it quite difficult to compose this letter, particularly when attempting to describe Rick’s past and current positions within public service.  This is because Rick is involved in so many different areas of the public service field, which makes it difficult to keep track of all that he does.  I would also like to mention, as I was reminded by Dispatcher Matthew Judge, that Rick also served as a part-time Police Officer for more than 15 years.

When we think of public servants we expect and hope that these select few men and women will selflessly serve their communities with honor, integrity, professionalism, and compassion.  These descriptors perfectly describe the type of person Rick is both professionally and personally.  It is for these reasons that we can assert to all those who bear witness to this recognition today that this incredible community is so very fortunate to have a true public servant like Rick Todd.

As a result, and on behalf of Rick’s colleagues, family members, friends, and residents of this grateful Town, we thank Rick for his 40 years of incredible contributions and service to our agency, this community, and to the public service profession.  There is no doubt that Rick’s service and selfless devotion have helped advance and preserve Hollis as being one of the safest communities in the State of New Hampshire.

The members of the Hollis Police Department, the Hollis Communications Center, the Hollis Fire Department, the members of other Town agencies, which includes our partners in both Brookline and Mason, and our governing body express great pleasure in recognizing your 40 years of service to the Hollis Communications Center.

May God bless you Rick and CONGRATULATIONS on this important recognition.
