'Join the Clique' Highway Safety Seat Belt Campaign

May 13th through June 2nd
Seat belt Enforcement

The Hollis Police Department will be participating in the annual “Join the NH Clique’ Seatbelt Campaign” on May 13, 2019 through June 2, 2019. The campaign is sponsored by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safetyy and funded by National Highway Traffic Safety Agency.

Officers will be working patrols that primarily focus on occupants of motor vehicles that are not in compliance with NH seatbelt law. The law, under RSA 265:107-a, requires drivers and passengers under the age of 18 to be properly restrained with a seat or safety belt. There are also age and height requirements for children to be properly secured in child restraint system while riding in a motor vehicle. The penalty for a first offense is $62 and $124 for a second or subsequent offense.

While officers are generally vigilant during normal patrols, this program provides the opportunity to remind everyone of the dangers involved and the need to buckle up throughout the year.
