On Tuesday, August 1st, neighborhoods through the Town of Hollis are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “40th Annual National Night Out” (NWO) crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Hollis Police Department, Hollis Recreation, the Hollis Social Library, and the Hollis Fire Department, will involve over 17,000 communities in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.

National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; (3) Strengthen community spirit and police/community partnerships; and (4) To further strengthen the Town of Hollis as a safe and thriving community.

Beginning at 6 PM on August 1, 2023, the Hollis Police Department, in partnership with the Hollis Recreation Commission and the Hollis Social Library, will host our third National Night Event. The event will be held on the field behind the Lawrence Barn, and will feature fun activities like bounce houses, music, and a movie night. We will also have a cookout and other treats for those in attendance. This is a family event aimed at strengthening relationships between our community and members of the Police Department. Children of all ages, and their families, are invited to attend. THERE IS NO COST to attend the event and all food items will be free.

Chief Joseph Hoebeke said, “This is a night for our community to come together and stand for unity and the promotion of safety and awareness. As we know, police/community partnerships are vital in creating a safe environment for our residents, while helping us continue the trend of Hollis being the safest mid-size community in the State of New Hampshire. This is the third year we have held this event, and we are certainly looking forward to being together with members of our community to celebrate the beauty and safety of our Town.”

We hope you consider attending this event, and we ask that you visit our Facebook page so you can indicate whether you plan on attending!
