Introducing one of our newest officers, Kyle A. Connors, who took his ceremonial Oath of Office at the January 6th meeting of the Hollis Board of Selectpersons.  We welcome Officer Connors to the Hollis Police Department family, and we wish him many years of success.  May God bless Officer Connors and keep him safe.

Here is a transcript of the speech read by Chief Hoebeke during Kyle's swearin-in ceremony:

It gives me great pleasure to announce the hiring of our newest Police Officer, Kyle A. Connors. Kyle, a resident of Nashua, is a graduate of Keene State University, where he received a Bachelors Degree with a major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology.  While completing his senior year at Keene State University, Kyle served as a student intern with the Hollis Police Department.  Kyle was among more than 45 people who signed up for our police officer selection process in January 2019, and distinguished himself as a top candidate based on his qualifications, knowledge of the agency, and his performance in that very process.

Kyle attended and graduated from the 180th session of the New Hampshire Police Academy.  Following his graduation on December 20, 2019, Kyle completed roughly two weeks of In-Service Training, before beginning his Field Training and Evaluation Program, which will last between 12 and 16 weeks.

On a personal note, I can say that the quality and character of Kyle is what we look for in our public servants, especially those serving in the law enforcement profession.  He is intelligent, hardworking, personable, and dedicated to his family.

Kyle - these qualities are the bedrock of those in our profession, and will serve you well as you begin your law enforcement journey.  I remind you to always do what it is right and just, and never betray the ethical and moral standards that define our profession, and those which have led you to this point in your life.  Lastly, I remind you that there are many challenges for those serving in the law enforcement profession and as such, it is important for you to be a leader within the community.  This requires that you exercise humility; toughness of character, so you are able to take shocks and challenges in stride; and the single-mindedness to remain unyielding but with enough mental agility to adapt when your approach is not working and when you are faced with those circumstances that might prevent you from meeting the demands and many challenges of policing in the 21st Century.

I closing, I wish to congratulate Kyle on this important achievement, and wish to thank him for choosing the Hollis Police Department.  Additionally, I want to thank all of the personnel, both withing the Hollis Police Department and at the Town level, with our recruitment and selection process, which has been lengthy and challenging.  Please know that I appreciate your assistance as this is truly a collaborative effort as we work to achieve full staffing levels.
