Trapani

It gives me great pleasure to formally introduce the newest member of the Hollis Police Department, Officer Michael Trapani.  Officer Michael Trapani is a native of Lowell, Massachusetts.  He attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and in 2012, graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sound Recording Technology.  In 2014, Officer Trapani enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, and in 2016, was commissioned from the State’s Officer Candidate School.  The OCS program is a rigorous and lengthy program instructed at the Regional Training Institute, Camp Edwards, Massachusetts by some of the State’s finest soldiers.  Officer Trapani currently serves as a First Lieutenant in the 101st Field Artillery Regiment, and recently was called to service in response to some of the civil unrest in Massachusetts.

Although we hired Michael in December, we were unable to complete this ceremonial swearing-in due to his attendance at the police academy, and also due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Between December and today, we have kept Michael busy.  He attended and completed the 181st session of the New Hampshire Police Academy, graduating second in his class.  Following his completion of the academy, Michael began the Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP), and is currently still participating in this extensive training program.

Officer Trapani currently lives in Nashua with his wife Kyrstal.  Aside from being a wonderful human being, Officer Trapani has demonstrated his resiliency, positive attitude, and flexibility in meeting the ever-changing requirements of his police training.  Virtually overnight, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the Police Academy transitioning to an online learning environment.  Officer Trapani did not miss a beat and not once did he complain about the situation.  Surely, this is demonstrated by his high academic average at the conclusion of the academy.

We often times speak to the complexities of hiring police officers, especially with all that is going on in our society.  This gives me all the more reason to be thankful that Mike decided to join our team.  He is a quality human being and know he will be an officer that exemplifies compassion and dedication to duty, while staying true to the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics and Oath of Honor.
Quickly, I would also like to recognize the hard work of Lieutenant James Maloney in running the hiring process Ofc. Trapani participated in.  Also, I cannot leave out Detective Thompson, who referred Ofc. Trapani to our agency.

I welcome Ofc. Trapani to the Hollis Police Department family, and will pray for his continued safety and success in the law enforcement profession.
