SPOTLIGHT ON HOLLIS PD

Officer Michael Trapani (a.k.a. 1st Lieutenant Michael Trapani, Massachusetts Army National Guard)
MJT

As part of our Strategic Planning process, we made the goal of doing a better job in trying to tell you a little bit more about the men and women of the Hollis Police Department, both sworn and non-sworn members. Over the next several weeks, we will provide you with a brief biography of our employees as a way to better connect with our community.

Given the incredible sacrifices made by the men and women of our Armed Forces, we thought it best to start our ‘SPOTLIGHT ON HOLLIS PD’ segment talking a bit about Officer Michael Trapani. Not only is Michael a full-time sworn police officer for our agency, he is also a First Lieutenant in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Mike, who is assigned to C Battery, 1-101st Field Artillery, is currently deployed to Iraq for a period of one year.

Mike was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, and attended the University of Massachusetts, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Sound Recording Technology. Prior to joining the Hollis Police Department, Mike worked for Boston College in their Audio/Visual Department. Mike was hired by our agency in December 2020, and he attended and completed the 181st session of the New Hampshire Police Academy. At graduation, Mike was recognized for maintain one of the highest academic averages throughout the 16 weeks of the academy session.

We are so very proud of Mike and feel blessed to have him protecting this community and protecting this country. We are also extremely thankful for Mike’s wife, Krystal, and his family, for sharing him with us. Mike is courageous and competent, and he has demonstrated his commitment to professional and compassionate policing. Moreover, Mike is genuinely a nice human being who always has a smile on his face and makes the best out of every situation.

Since we are in the process of organizing a care package to send to Mike and his fellow soldiers, a few of which are law enforcement officers in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, we ask you to please consider dropping off some of the items on the attached list.

We will be mailing the care package off to Mike on September 10th. PLEASE, PLEASE do not include any items that are not suitable for the care package. We also express our appreciation to Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber for collecting greeting cards to include in the care package!
