St. Patrick's Day

The Hollis Police Department made two impaired driving related arrests during a planned St. Patrick’s Day grant funded enforcement patrol.  The funds for these targeted patrols are directed to state law enforcement agencies by the New Hampshire Department of Highway Safety, through of federal grant dollars distributed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA).  The Hollis Police Department has been awarded a total of $13,365.00 in grant funding for the 2019 fiscal year for enforcement patrols, which allow us to devote more focus and attention to impaired driving, distracted driving, seatbelt violations, and other motor vehicle offenses that elevate the risks of motor vehicle collisions.

On St. Patrick’s Day (March 17, 2019), a Hollis Police Officer initiated a motor stop with David Ayotte (61 years old), of Brookline, New Hampshire.  Ayotte was operating his vehicle in an erratic manner and admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages prior to driving his motor vehicle.  Per the officer’s request, Ayotte agreed to field sobriety tests.  He was subsequently arrested for DUI – impairment - over .08 legal limit (class B misdemeanor).  Ayotte was released on personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua, on April 3, 2019.

In the early morning hours of March 18, 2019, a Hollis Police Officer was conducting routine patrol on Proctor Hill Road.  At the time, the Officer initiated a motor vehicle stop with a vehicle traveling in excess of the speed limit.  The driver, identified as Dakota Dickey (23 years old) of Brookline, New Hampshire, admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.  At the officer’s request, Dickey agreed to and performed field sobriety tests.  He was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI Impairment (class B misdemeanor), Open Container (violation), and Speeding (violation).  Dickey later released on personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua, on April 3, 2019.
