Chief Russell Ux

Chief Russell Ux began his career in June of 1981 when he became a part-time civilian dispatcher for the Department. He was appointed a full-time civilian dispatcher in August of 1981 and served in that position until 1984. During that time, he developed an interest in Law Enforcement and became certified as a part-time Police Officer in 1982.  In November of 1984, he was appointed as a full-time Police Officer and attended the 71st NH Police Academy. He served the Department as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Prosecutor and Communications Center Supervisor before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2000. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2001, took over as Chief of Police on December 29, 2005 and retired May 31, 2011. Chief Ux oversaw the extensive renovation project at the station, overhauled the department's fleet, and embraced technology in a manner that allowed the department to operate more efficiently with an emphasis on patrol activities.
